Education in the UK is second nature, something that helps us for life! Koma Hills lack the educational facilities needed by the younger generation who have struggled to progress into higher education. The absence of government assistance and extreme weather conditions have destroyed almost all educational infrastructure in the region.

Design Concept

The design ensures a high-performance structure based on building principles pioneered by world famous Architect Diébédo Francis Kéré. The roof of the Primary School is pulled away from the learning space of the interior though, and a perforated clay vaulted ceiling with ample ventilation. The vaulted clay brick ceiling allows for maximum ventilation, pulling cool air in from the interior windows and releasing hot air out through the perforated ceiling. In turn, the ecological footprint of the school is vastly reduced by alleviating the need for air-conditioning.
