Every Summer we take on a challenge and push ourselves beyond our limits. In summer 2020 on the 1st of August we took on the #SchoolWalkChallenge!

Each day in Koma Hills, Nigera, children like Mishak walk on average 6km to get to school. This is approximately 1600km in a school year ! Mishak studies under extremely high temperatures with overcrowded classrooms and no ventilation which creates a breeding ground for diseases and infections. No child should endure these conditions whilst trying to create a better future for themselves.

OUR GOAL WAS TO PROVIDE MISHAK AND HIS FRIENDS WITH A SUSTAINABLE SCHOOL IN THE HEART OF THEIR COMMUNITY.

The School will provide a healthy and safe learning environment allowing the children to reach their full potential and create a better tomorrow

Distance

For this to happen #EveryKmCounts and the sum of all people walking either 20km, 40km or 60km will add up to our total distance target of 1,600 km.

Location

We will followed the Thames path, from Windsor to Putney.

- The 60 km distance could take between 15 and 16 hours to walk. Starting from Windsor (Windsor and Eton Riverside Station) at 7am

- The 40 km distance could take between 9 and 10 hours to walk. Starting from Shepperton (TW17 9BL) at 12:30pm

- The 20 km distance could take between 4 and 5 hours to walk. Starting from Canbury Gardens (KT2 6LZ) at 5:30pm

All the teams met along the way and finished together at Putney Bridge!

We continue to encourage everyone to sponsor us on our adventure. We aim to raise £60K to go towards our sustainable School Project in Koma Hills, Nigeria. If you would like to sponsor us please donate in the option below.
